Our Meeting's roots stretch back to the 1920s at Montclair Friends Meeting.
Strongly held Quaker beliefs (often including calls to action) are recorded in a simply stated "minute" which captures the collective discernment of the Meeting on any given issue. Most often a minute is about a pressing social, moral or political issue of the day that calls us to respond as a community of faith. Most recently Chatham Summit Quaker Meeting has generated minutes on the abolition of the death penalty in New Jersey, the use of torture, and our willingness to recognize and celebrate committed relationships. To read these minutes and other that have been generated over the past several decades, go to Official Minutes
